This morning at approximately 04h54, Marshall Security oncoming Controllers had just arrived for duty and observed a suspect exiting a business on Kenneth Kaunda Road, Durban North after an alarm had activated, carrying a large red bag. The business is not a client of Marshall Security.
Acting quickly, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was immediately notified, providing the suspect’s description, the items he was carrying, and his direction of travel. Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched.

Upon reaching Umhlanga Rocks Drive, our Officer spotted an individual matching the description and swiftly apprehended the suspect. In his possession were pots, two-plate stoves, and various other kitchen utensils. The suspect admitted to forcibly removing the items from the business premises.

Although the business is not a client of Marshall Security, our Emergency Dispatch Centre located an after-hours contact number. The manager was informed and promptly arrived on-site. Greenwood Park SAPS also attended the scene, and the suspect, along with the recovered items, was handed over for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This incident underscores Marshall Security’s dedication to community safety, rapid response, and effective collaboration with law enforcement, even for non-clients.
