On 13 May 2025, at approximately 16h00, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) received critical intelligence regarding suspects who were planning to commit a business robbery later that evening. An operational plan was immediately formulated in collaboration with Greenwood Park SAPS Trio Crimes, Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes, KwaMashu SAPS Trio Crimes, and Crime Intelligence.
At around 18h30, follow-up intelligence confirmed that the suspects were en route from a known informal settlement in the Springfield Park area. They were expected to board a Toyota Quantum waiting at a bus stop on Umgeni Road. The vehicle had previously been linked to a business robbery in the Kenville area just two days prior, during which cigarettes and cash were stolen.
Acting swiftly, members proceeded to the location and identified the suspicious Toyota Quantum parked at the bus stop. Officers moved into position and conducted surveillance. Minutes later, three suspects approached and entered the vehicle. Without hesitation, members moved in and apprehended four suspects inside the taxi.
A search of the suspects yielded a shotgun with seven live rounds and a black replica firearm. The suspects, along with the vehicle, were transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing and investigation.

Subsequent intelligence led members to the Ntuzuma area, where another suspect linked to the same business robberies was arrested. The arrested individuals have been positively identified and are believed to be part of a larger syndicate responsible for multiple business robberies across the greater Durban area.
It has since been established that the suspects were also involved in a recent shootout with SAPS in the Pinetown area following another business robbery. An attempted murder case has been opened in connection with the attack on police officers.
Marshall Security extends its sincere appreciation to Greenwood Park SAPS Trio Crimes, Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes, KwaMashu SAPS Trio Crimes, and Crime Intelligence for their collaboration and commitment to this successful operation. United efforts like this continue to make a powerful impact in dismantling criminal networks in Durban.
