Marshall Security Apprehends Suspects in Separate Durban North Theft Cases

Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team successfully apprehended suspects involved in two separate theft incidents in the Durban North area, underscoring their unwavering commitment to community safety.

Stolen Gate Motor Traced and Recovered

Yesterday, at approximately 10h00, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team responded to a report of a stolen gate motor on Old Mill Way, Durban North.

Security footage revealed that around 05h10, a suspect driving a silver Toyota Corolla forcibly opened the gate, removed the swing gate motors and control box, and fled the scene.

During the investigation, and in collaboration with Durban North SAPS Crime Prevention officers, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted on Kenneth Kaunda Road and swiftly intercepted. Upon questioning, the driver confessed to the theft and admitted to selling the stolen swing gate motor and control box to a member of the public at a local supermarket, unaware the items were stolen.

Further investigation led the team to Mandini, approximately 75km away from Durban, where the stolen items were successfully recovered. The suspect, along with the recovered property and vehicle, was handed over to Durban North SAPS for further processing.

Volkswagen Wheel Caps Recovered in Umgeni Park

On 15 December 2024, at approximately 11h45, while patrolling Riverside Road in the Umgeni Park area, members of Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team noticed a suspicious male carrying a black bag.

Given the recent spate of thefts, the officer conducted a stop-and-search. The suspect was found in possession of two silver Volkswagen wheel caps and could not provide a reasonable explanation for having the items. The suspect was immediately apprehended.

Upon further questioning, the suspect admitted to stealing the wheel caps from a vehicle parked outside a flea market on Uitsig Road, Durban North. Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre quickly contacted the vehicle owner, who confirmed the theft and chose to press charges.

Durban North SAPS arrived on the scene and took the suspect into custody for further investigation and legal action.

Commitment to Community Safety

“These incidents demonstrate the power of vigilance, swift response, and community collaboration,” said [Insert Spokesperson Name], Marshall Security representative. “We remain steadfast in our mission to protect the residents of Durban North and surrounding areas, ensuring justice is served.”

Both cases highlight the effectiveness of proactive patrolling and strong partnerships with local law enforcement in combating crime.
