This afternoon, at approximately 12:00, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received an urgent call reporting a stabbing incident on Effingham Road, in the Effingham area.
Reports from the scene indicated that a male suspect had stabbed a female victim and attempted to flee. Multiple Armed Response Officers, supported by members of our Special Operations Team, were immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, it was confirmed that Greenwood Park SAPS had already apprehended the Effingham stabbing suspect following a separate call for assistance. Despite the swift response, the female victim, who had sustained multiple stab wounds, showed no signs of life and was tragically declared deceased at the scene.
Greenwood Park SAPS is currently on-site and has taken over the investigation. While the exact motive is still being determined, early indications suggest that the incident may be domestic-related.
Marshall Security extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and will continue to cooperate fully with SAPS as the investigation unfolds. We also commend Greenwood Park SAPS for their commitment and prompt action in ensuring that the Effingham stabbing suspect was swiftly brought into custody.
