A house robber was arrested after fleeing the scene where he had held up a domestic worker in the Durban North area earlier today.
At approximately 12h45 this afternoon the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received multiple panic activations from a client on Kelvin Place, who stated that a suspect had just jumped into their property from a neighbouring property.
Multiple Armed Response Officers, Special Operations Team members and Tactical Unit members were dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes.
A suspect was then immediately arrested on the client’s property in Kelvin Place and upon searching the suspect cash, a Samsung cellphone and screwdriver was found in his possession.
It was later established that the suspect had committed a house robbery in the neighbouring property in Annan Place, a non-Marshall monitored property, where the suspect had held up a domestic worker with a screwdriver and demanded her phone and money before fleeing the scene.
The suspect together with the stolen items were then handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
