Stolen Fuel Recovered Near Petrol Station: Suspect Apprehended in Westmead

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 16h45, while commuting to work, a GWA Monitoring Controller observed a suspicious male carrying a 25-litre container near a petrol station in the Westmead area.

Recognising the suspicious nature of the activity, the GWA Controller immediately alerted Marshall Security’s GWA Tactical Officers and GWA Armed Response Officers to investigate further.

Upon arrival, Officers located the individual in question, and after a brief investigation, it was established that the fuel had been stolen from a well-known hardware store in the Gillitts area. The suspect was immediately apprehended.

The business owner was informed and confirmed that they would be pressing charges against the suspect.

Pinetown SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene shortly after, transporting the suspect to the station for further investigation and processing.

This incident is yet another example of how vigilance, rapid response, and teamwork between Marshall Security personnel play a crucial role in combating everyday crime. The Greater Westmead Association (GWA), in collaboration with Marshall Security and SAPS, continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring a safer environment for all.
