In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 03h24, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received an urgent call from a client on Edgeley Road, Park Hill. The client reported hearing noises on the roof near his garage and noted that his dogs were barking incessantly, suggesting a possible suspect on site.
Marshall Security Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers observed that roof tiles had been removed, indicating an attempted entry through the roof. During a thorough inspection of the property, a suspect was spotted fleeing into the neighboring property, which is also under Marshall Security’s coverage.
Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre promptly contacted the neighboring homeowner to inform them of the situation and obtained consent to enter the premises. Once inside, officers located and apprehended the suspect.
The individual was found in possession of house breaking implements, which he had used to damage the roof and ceiling in an attempt to access the garage. The client confirmed their intent to press charges against the suspect.
Greenwood Park SAPS were called to the scene and arrived shortly after to take the suspect into custody for further legal proceedings.
