Early this morning, at approximately 04h34, while conducting a routine patrol along Chris Hani Road, Marshall Security Armed Response Officers observed a male at the corner of Mimosa Road, Greenwood Park carrying several items and behaving suspiciously.
The individual was immediately stopped and questioned. During the interaction, the suspect could not provide our officers with a reasonable explanation as to how and where he got the items and was immediately apprehended.
Upon further investigation at approximately 05h40, a message was posted on a local WhatsApp Community Crime Alert Group reporting a break-in on Orlington Avenue in Park Hill. The resident was contacted and confirmed that the items found in the suspect’s possession matched those stolen from his home.
The homeowner later met with our officers and Greenwood Park SAPS, who had by then arrived on scene, and the suspect was transported to the police station for further processing.

The homeowner who is not a Marshall Security client, later confirmed that entry had been gained by forcing open a garage window, as captured on surveillance footage.
It was later established that the suspect was linked to a theft out of motor vehicle incident on Buxton Road, where a Garmin navigation device was stolen. The owner of the vehicle is aware of the incident and is currently in communication with Greenwood Park SAPS regarding the case.
This arrest highlights the importance of proactive patrols, community-driven alerts, and timely collaboration between Marshall Security and SAPS. Marshall Security remains committed to protecting communities—day and night.
