This morning, at approximately 09:08, an off-duty Marshall Security Armed Response Officer received a call from a concerned resident on Acutt Avenue, Umgeni Park, reporting a housebreaking in progress. Despite the caller not being a Marshall Security client, the officer immediately alerted Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre to mobilize assistance.
In response, multiple Armed Response Officers and members of the Special Operations Team were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, it was established that the suspect had gained entry to the property through the roof. Observing the suspect attempting to escape, the team quickly and effectively surrounded the house, preventing any possibility of escape.
The homeowner arrived shortly afterward to provide access to the property. A thorough search was conducted, and the suspect was found hiding in the main bedroom. The individual was promptly apprehended by the team.
The homeowner expressed their intent to press charges. Greenwood Park SAPS was contacted and arrived within minutes to take the suspect into custody for further investigation and legal processing.
This successful operation highlights the vigilance and dedication of Marshall Security’s team. The swift actions of the off-duty officer, combined with the rapid deployment of resources and collaboration with Greenwood Park SAPS, ensured the safety of the community and the recovery of the property.
