Early this morning, at approximately 00h35, a message was posted on a WhatsApp Crime Alert group reporting a business break-in in progress at a well-known business premises on Woodford Grove in the Morningside area—one not currently under Marshall Security’s protection. Three suspects were spotted on the property.
Marshall Security Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers observed three suspects fleeing the property. A pursuit ensued, and one suspect was successfully apprehended and found in possession of housebreaking implements.
Shortly thereafter, the business owner arrived. An inspection revealed that, while the suspects had not gained entry to the building itself, they had damaged an external security beam and stripped one of the air conditioning units.
Durban Central SAPS was contacted and responded to the scene. A formal case was opened, and the suspect was taken into custody for further investigation and processing.
Despite an extensive search, the remaining two suspects unfortunately managed to evade arrest.
