Last night at approximately 19h20 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a panic activation from a client’s premises on Hawthorne Lane in the Morningside area where it had been reported by the client that a suspect was on their property.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes where the suspect was found on our client’s property and was immediately apprehended. It was later established that the suspect had attempted to steal various items from the neighbouring property.
The Berea SAPS were informed and arrived on scene a short while later. The suspect was handed over for further investigation and processing.
Then this morning at approximately 07h00 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received reports of a housebreaking in progress via a WhatsApp crime alert group on Kenneth Kaunda Road in the Umgeni Park area.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and as our team members arrived on scene a suspect was spotted fleeing the property with stolen items and was immediately apprehended.
The Greenwood Park SAPS were advised and arrived on scene a short while later. Unfortunately due to the house being abandoned, the suspect was let off with a warning.
