Our Weekend In Review: One Arrest And Two Successful Vehicle Recoveries Over Two Days

This weekend our team members were on the move and arrested one suspect in Durban North and manage to locate two stolen vehicles.

On Saturday morning at approximately 06h10 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received multiple panic activations and numerous calls for assistance on Glemore Crescent in the Durban North area after a suspect was seen trespassing and fence hopping in the area.

Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes.

The suspect was eventually found and apprehended on another property on Glenmore Crescent by our team members working together with community members. It was later established that the suspect had stolen a braai stand and a gardening spade from a client’s property on Glenmore Crescent.

The Durban North SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to the Durban North SAPS for further processing and investigations.

The suspect is believed to be involved in numerous housebreaking and theft incidents in the Durban North area over the past few weeks.

Later that day at approximately 13h30 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was alerted to a business robbery which had occurred at a client’s business premises on North Coast Road in the Park Hill area.

Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene a short while later.

It was later established that an unknown amount of armed suspects entered the business premises and held up staff members at gunpoint before fleeing the business premises with cash, alcohol, other undisclosed items and white Isuzu bakkie.

Details of the stolen vehicle was circulated to all our Armed Response Officers and Special Operations Team members to be on the lookout.

It was later established, that the stolen vehicle was fitted with Matrix tracking. Our team members were immediately dispatched to assist with locating the stolen vehicle and just after 14h00 the vehicle was found abandoned on Umgeni Road in the Windermere area and recovered by our team members together with the Matrix ground team.

The Greenwood Park SAPS were informed accordingly and the stolen vehicle was transported back to the Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.

In a separate incident, on Friday at approximately 12h20 members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Tracker SA with locating a Hyundia H1 which had been taken in a house robbery in the Westville area by an unknown amount of armed suspects.

After a lengthy track the vehicle was eventually found abandoned on Nubain Avenue in the Wiggins area and recovered by our team members, the Tracker ground team and the South African Police Service.

The scene was secured and will be investigated further by the South African Police Service.
