This afternoon at 12h10 our Armed Response Officer whilst on routine patrol in the Effingham area was informed by another private security company that they are in search of suspects who had just stolen a motorbike on Belmont Road.
Our team members immediately assisted to search for the suspects. A short while later the suspects were spotted on Belmont Road where the suspects were towing the stolen motorbike with their own motorbike.
In a team effort, one suspect was promptly apprehended whilst the second suspect ran into a nearby dense bush.
Further back up was requested where members of our Special Operations Team arrived on scene a short while later.
An extensive search of the outstanding suspect was conducted but unfortunately managed to evade arrest.
Greenwood Park SAPS were contacted who arrived on scene a short while later. Unfortunately the owner of the motorbike did not desire opening a case against the suspect.
Subsequently the suspect was transported to Greenwood Park SAPS and detained under the immigration act as he could not supply the Officers with necessary documents.
