At 01h27 on Saturday morning, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was notified of a shooting incident at a well-known nightclub in the Umhlanga area. Our Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Initial reports indicated that an altercation inside the nightclub escalated, resulting in security personnel escorting several individuals outside.
The altercation continued outside the premises and during this incident a male was shot and sustained several gun shot wounds.
Immediate medical treatment was administered on-site by a private ambulance service assisted by Netcare911 before the victim was transported to Hospital for further care.
Durban North SAPS were on scene will be investigating further.
