At approximately 20h20 last night, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) was activated by Cartrack following reports of a Nissan Navara that had been stolen from a well-known hotel on Marine Parade, North Beach, Durban.
Working closely with Cartrack’s ground teams, members immediately launched a coordinated search to track down the stolen Nissan Navara.
A short while later, Cartrack members, assisted by the Durban Metro K9 Unit and our Special Operations Team (SOT) successfully located and recovered the stolen Nissan Navara in Umlazi, where it was found idling and abandoned. The quick recovery prevented further criminal use of the vehicle, which was promptly handed over to Umlazi SAPS for investigation.

In another incident this morning, members of our SOT were activated by Cartrack to assist in locating a white Toyota Corolla, which had been hijacked in Stepdale Place, Newlands West.

SOT members proceeded to the vehicle’s last known location. Upon arrival in Ntuzuma B Section, the vehicle was also found abandoned by Cartrack and SOT members. The vehicle was handed back to the owner, who declined to opening a case.
Marshall Security must be commended for the effective collaboration between Cartrack, Durban Metro K9 Police, and SAPS reinforcing the power of rapid response partnerships in combating vehicle theft across Durban.
