This morning, at approximately 07h10, while conducting routine patrols, Marshall Security Armed Response Officers spotted a male carrying a microwave on Kingston Drive, Durban North.
Raising suspicions, our Armed Response Officers immediately stopped to interview the individual. When questioned, the suspect claimed he had found the microwave on the pavement on Blackburn Road, approximately 70 meters away. However, further investigation revealed that the homeowner had no knowledge of the microwave. The appliance was tested and confirmed to be in working condition, further raising suspicion. The suspect was immediately apprehended.
Greenwood Park SAPS was contacted and arrived on the scene shortly after. The suspect and the stolen item were transported to the police station, where he will be facing charges for possession of a suspected stolen item.
