Back-to-Back Suspects Stopped in Westmead

Westmead Theft Suspects Apprehended

This morning, during routine patrols in the Westmead area, GWA Marshall Security teams intercepted two separate suspicious individuals in swift succession — both found walking with stolen goods.

At approximately 06:00, while on patrol along Henry Pennington Road, a GWA Armed Response Officer spotted a male carrying a table in an unusual manner, heading in the direction of Swanfield Road. The officer promptly stopped and questioned. With no verification of ownership, the suspect was apprehended on the spot.

A few minutes later, the same officer encountered another suspicious male walking on Henry Pennington Road — this time pushing a lawn mower. Upon being questioned, the individual could not provide our Officers with a reasonable explanation as to how he had the item in his possession.

Westmead Theft Suspects Apprehended

During investigations and with the help of our Community Support Team it was established that the lawnmower was stolen in a house breaking incident earlier that morning on Glenwood Road in the Kloof area.

These early morning incidents reflect the consistent vigilance of our teams on the ground and the value of continuous patrols in crime-prone areas. Through swift action, proactive engagement, and ongoing collaboration with local law enforcement, Greater Westmead Association and Marshall Security remains committed to protecting the communities we serve.
