Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 16h15, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an alert regarding a suspicious silver Mercedes Benz C200 located on Sinembe Crescent just off Umhlanga Rocks Drive within in the Somerset Park area.
Responding swiftly to the situation, members of our Special Operations Team, Tracker SA ground team and SAPS Provincial Vehicle members and Trio Task Team promptly responded.
A short while later the vehicle was located and found abandoned and upon further investigation, it was established that the vehicle was fitted with false plates and a false license disc and that the vehicle was sought by the SAPS.
The vehicle had been hijacked last week Saturday by an unknown amount of armed suspects in the Reservoir Hills area.
The vehicle was transported to Sydenham SAPS for further investigation and processing.
