This morning at approximately 10h56, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a distress call from a client residing on Poinsettia Road in the Glen Hills area who reported a house break-in in progress and gave an accurate description of the suspect.
In response, multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched.
Whilst responding to the reported house break-in, our vigilant team members spotted the suspect matching the description provided by the homeowner walking along Harrison Drive. Acting swiftly our team successfully apprehended the suspect.
Upon searching the suspect, our team discovered various power tools, a pump, and various house-breaking implements in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect and the stolen items were positively identified by the homeowner.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had recently been released from prison after being apprehended by our team earlier this year and faced charges related to house-breaking and theft in the Avoca area.
Additionally, Marshall Security Investigations Unit and Greenwood Park SAPS Detectives ascertained the suspect is believed to be linked to two other cases of house-breaking and theft in August this year on Avoca Road in the Avoca area, after being caught on CCTV footage.
The suspect has been transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing and in-depth investigations.
