This afternoon,at approximately 14h30, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client in Effingham requiring assistance following the theft of their cellphone. The incident occurred at a well-known hardware store in the Newlands East area.
In a collaborative effort with Newlands SAPS, the stolen cellphone was successfully recovered. The suspect was arrested, who was identified as a staff member at the hardware store in a well known complex in the Newlands East area.
The suspect was transported to Newlands West Police Station for further investigations and processing.
