Three And A Half Hour Search Leads To Successful Copper Thief Arrest

Today, our dedicated team members successfully apprehended a suspect after an intensive three-and-a-half-hour search.

At approximately 11H20, the Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a panic activation from a client’s premises on Harrison Drive in the Glen Hills area. The report indicated that a theft was in progress, with a suspect seen removing copper pipes from the homeowner’s house wall.

Swiftly responding to the situation, our Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on the scene within minutes. They spotted the suspect fleeing from the property. Realizing the imminent capture, the suspect dropped the stolen copper pipes and escaped into a nearby dense bush.

Determined to apprehend the wanted suspect, our dedicated team members conducted an extensive search, tirelessly scouring the area for several hours. After an intensive pursuit, our vigilant team spotted the suspect on Harrison Drive approximately three-and-a-half hours later. Taking swift action, they managed to successfully apprehend the suspect and was positively identified by the homeowner.

Subsequently, Greenwood Park SAPS was called to the scene, and the suspect was transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
