Yesterday morning at approximately 08:30, Marshall Security Armed Response Officers reported that they were in pursuit of a suspect on Acutt Avenue in Umgeni Park.
Officers observed the suspect carrying a steel table frame with electrical wire concealed in a plastic bag. When instructed to stop, the suspect dropped the items and attempted to flee on foot. Marshall Security members gave chase and, with the assistance of another private security company, successfully apprehended the individual.
Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the stolen and now recovered items had indeed been taken from a Marshall Security client’s premises on Lovat Road, Park Hill, and the client indicated they would be opening a case.
Greenwood Park SAPS was contacted and arrived shortly thereafter, transporting the suspect to the police station for further processing.
