In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 05:53, a concerned resident who is a non Marshall Security client reported a suspect breaking into a vehicle on their property on Brair Lane, Umgeni Park.
Displaying remarkable quick-thinking, the vehicle owner intervened by kicking the car door shut, effectively trapping the suspect inside. Marshall Security’s armed response teams arrived within minutes, apprehending the suspect, who was found in possession of housebreaking tools.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect is linked to two other theft out of motor vehicle incidences, one in the Parkhill area and another in the Umgeni Park area, that have been report to the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre and Greenwood Park SAPS. Greenwood Park SAPS Detectives have been notified accordingly.
The suspect has since been transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing.
