On the 16th of September 2024, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team and Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes Unit successfully apprehended three suspects involved in a major housebreaking and theft incident that took place on the 14th of September in Lagoon Drive, Umhlanga.
The suspects had gained access by forcing open a rear window and stole multiple electronic items and the keys to the client’s Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. After loading the stolen goods into the client’s vehicle, parked in the complex’s parking area, they fled the scene.
The client discovered the break-in the next morning and immediately contacted the authorities, including the Tracking Company, which successfully traced the stolen vehicle to Chesterville, where it was found abandoned by members of the SAPS.
On the evening of September 16th, at approximately 22:00, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team, in collaboration with Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes Unit, received key intelligence on the suspects’ location. The teams proceeded to a house in KwaDabeka, where one of the suspects was apprehended with some of the stolen items. After questioning the suspect, the suspect provided information leading them to a second house in Chesterville, where a second suspect was arrested.
Further questioning revealed that the remaining stolen property had been sold to a foreign national in Chesterville. The collaborative teams proceeded to the identified location and successfully recovered the outstanding stolen goods, arresting the buyer.
All suspects, along with the recovered property, were transported to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing. The suspects are also possibly linked to another housebreaking in Flamingo Land, Umhlanga.
This successful apprehension once again highlights Marshall Security’s and Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes’ dedication to swift action and community safety, ensuring that those who commit crimes are brought to justice.
This joint effort demonstrates the importance of collaboration in protecting the community and swiftly responding to crime.
