Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 12h45, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a distressing report regarding a suspected suicide on Legacy Road in the Red Hill area.
Our Armed Response and Community Support Teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, our officers were met with a heartbreaking scene—local residents had discovered the body of an unidentified male hanging from a tree. Given the state of decomposition, it was determined that the body had been there for several days.
Due to its elevated position, Metro Search and Rescue and Ethekwini Fire Department was called to assist with retrieving the body. Greenwood Park SAPS also attended the scene, and the body was formally handed over to law enforcement for further investigation.
