Yesterday afternoon our Special Operations Teams arrested a suspect that was seen in the Avoca Hills area driving a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 12h30 members of our Special Ops Teams received information on a stolen grey Toyota that had been spotted in the Avoca Hills area, which had been taken in a house robbery in the Bhamshela area.
Members of our Special Ops Team and Greenwood Park SAPS immediately responded to the location, and as they arrived a suspect was seen fleeing from the vehicle and then jumped into another vehicle. Members then gave chase and managed to stop the getaway vehicle and apprehended the suspect with the assistance of the Greenwood Park SAPS.
Upon searching the suspect, the keys for the stolen vehicle was found in his possession. The suspect and stolen vehicle were transported back to the Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
