This morning, just after 05:00, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an urgent call for assistance from a concerned homeowner on Taunton Way in Somerset Park who spotted a suspect on their property.
Without delay, multiple Armed Response Officers were dispatched to the scene. Within minutes, officers arrived and spotted the suspect, who was carrying a packet containing stolen extension cords. The suspect was immediately apprehended, preventing any further criminal activity.
The homeowner, determined to take a stand against crime, chose to press charges. Durban North SAPS was contacted and arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. The suspect was handed over by our officers for further investigation and processing.
