At approximately 08h57 this morning, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an urgent call for assistance from a distressed client on the Station Ridge Road in the Red Hill area, reporting a theft in progress. The client alarmingly noted that a suspect was actively stealing copper pipes from her property.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes. Upon entry, the officers spotted the suspect at the rear of the premises. Without delay, the suspect was apprehended by our team.
Further inspection revealed the suspect in possession of approximately 10 meters of copper pipes and brass taps, alongside implements used for the theft. The timely intervention of Marshall Security not only prevented further loss but also led to the recovery of the stolen items. The suspect is also known and has been apprehended previously by our team.
The apprehended suspect has been handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation.
