On April 1, 2025, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client on Old North Coast Road in Glen Anil regarding a break-in that had occurred in the early hours of that morning. Armed Response Officers found that a suspect had forced open a rear door and accessed the building through the ceiling, stealing electrical cables before fleeing the scene.
Just two days later, on April 3, a second break-in occurred at the same premises. Officers discovered that the suspect had returned, this time gaining entry via the roof and stealing a quantity of copper cables. Greenwood Park SAPS was notified after both incidents, and cases were opened.
Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) reviewed CCTV footage from both incidents and identified a single repeat business break-in suspect responsible for both crimes.
On April 18, while patrolling Prince Umhlangane Road, members of our Special Operations Team spotted the suspect walking in the direction of North Coast Road. Acting swiftly, the team intercepted and apprehended him. Greenwood Park SAPS arrived on the scene shortly after and took the suspect into custody, where he now faces charges for both break-ins and the associated thefts.
This arrest highlights the importance of intelligence-led patrols, strategic surveillance, and inter-agency collaboration. Marshall Security remains committed to protecting the business community by ensuring repeat offenders are brought to justice.
