Earlier this week one of our Armed Response Officers was stopped by a member of the public to report a theft incident that had just taken place at his property. Our Response Officer responded immediately and managed to arrest the suspect within minutes.
Whilst on routine patrol in the Glen Hills area one of our Armed Response Officers was flagged down by a member of the public on Rinaldo Road just before 10h00 on Monday morning.
The member of the public (a non-Marshall client) informed our Armed Response Officer that a suspect had just stolen electrical power tools and a gardening tool from his property. Our Armed Response Officer without hesitation immediately went in search of the wanted suspect and within a few minutes the suspect matching the description given was arrested on Rinaldo Road.
Upon searching the suspect, the mentioned electrical power tools and gardening tool was found in his possession.
The suspect was handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS, however the complainant did not wish to open a case and the suspect was given a strict warning and then released. The stolen items were then returned to the complainant. We urge anyone who has been a victim of crime to report it to the police as this not only keeps your community safer but helps give a true reflection of the criminal activity within our areas.
