INCIDENT: HOUSE ROBBERY

At approximately 11:00 Marshall Security responded to reports of a robbery which had occurred in Sylvan Grove in Umhlanga Rocks, north of Durban.
Armed Reaction officers descended on the scene and further information ascertained revealed that five armed suspects derailed a driveway gate before storming the home. A domestic worker who was present at the time was confronted and held up at gunpoint while the men ransacked the home, making off with various items of electronic equipment and fleeing in an awaiting getaway vehicle.
Although seriously traumatized in the ordeal, the domestic worker did not suffer any physical injury.
The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
The suspects remain at large.
