INCIDENT: HIJACKING AND ABDUCTION

Yesterday afternoon Marshall Security and Crisis Medical responded to a residence in Beachway Road, Durban North after receiving reports of an armed robbery.
On arrival on the scene, further information ascertained revealed that a forty-nine-year-old man was hijacked by unknown suspects earlier in the day at approximately 09:30, whilst he was travelling in the Springfield Park area.
The suspects allegedly abducted the man, taking him to an unknown location, where they assaulted him and poured boiling water over his body, demanding to know where he keeps his money and where he resides.
The men then made their way to the victim’s home robbing him of an undisclosed amount of money, before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The victim sustained second-degree burn wounds to twenty percent of his body surface area and was attended to by Crisis Medical Emergency Care Practitioners, before being taken to a nearby hospital for further immediate care.
The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
