A suspect was arrested after a short foot chase when our members responded to a theft incident that had taken place in the Glen Hills area yesterday.
At approximately 16h10 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was informed by a client in Hudson Place that a suspect had just stolen their brush cutter from their garage.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and Special Operations Team members were dispatched and advised to be on the lookout for the wanted suspect, who was spotted a few minutes later walking on North Coast Road.
The suspect noticed our team members approaching, dropped the stolen brush cutter, and immediately started to flee on foot. After a short foot chase, the suspect was arrested at the intersection on North Coast Road and Moreland Drive in the Avoca area by members of our Special Ops Team.
The Greenwood Park SAPS were informed accordingly and arrived on the scene. The suspect and the stolen brush cutter was handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS where the suspect was then transported to the police station and will be charged with theft.
Well done to our members for their vigilance and swift response that led to the arrest.
