Fraud Suspect Apprehended After Wanted Vehicle Located in Westmead

On 11 July 2026, at approximately 13h13, information was received regarding a white Volkswagen Polo believed to be wanted in connection with a fraud case registered at Umbilo SAPS in June 2026.

The vehicle details were immediately circulated to GWA Marshall Security Armed Response Officers and Tactical Teams.

A short while later, the vehicle was located at a well-known service station on Alexander Road.

The driver was interviewed after returning to the vehicle and claimed to have no knowledge of it being linked to a fraud investigation.

Pinetown SAPS attended the scene and transported both the driver and the vehicle to Umbilo SAPS for further verification.

Following further investigation by Umbilo SAPS detectives, it was confirmed that the driver was indeed the suspect wanted in connection with the fraud case, and he was subsequently apprehended.

The vehicle was subsequently booked in at Umbilo SAPS for further investigation.

Marshall Security commends the vigilance of its Armed Response Officers and Tactical Teams and the cooperation between Pinetown SAPS and Umbilo SAPS. This successful arrest once again demonstrates the value of rapid information sharing and coordinated action in identifying wanted suspects and bringing them before the courts.
