Over the past few weeks, a video dating back to 11 July 2026 has been circulating within the community after a suspect was captured throwing a rock through the window of a non-client’s property in the Glenashley area. A formal case was opened and registered at Durban North SAPS.
Since the incident, Marshall Security, community members, and local Neighbourhood Watch groups have remained vigilant and on the lookout for the suspect.
At approximately 06h45 this morning, the alleged suspect was spotted walking along Adelaide Tambo Drive before entering Virginia Bush. His description and last known direction were immediately circulated to responding Marshall Security Armed Response Officers.
Officers entered the bush and, with the assistance of Home Hawks Neighbourhood Watch Patrollers, successfully located and apprehended the suspect.
During a search, officers discovered live ammunition in the suspect’s possession, which he was unable to account for.
Durban North SAPS was notified and responded to the scene shortly thereafter. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing.
The suspect is expected to face charges of malicious damage to property and unlawful possession of ammunition.
