This morning at approximately 05h35 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received reports via numerous WhatsApp Crime Alert groups of a suspect trespassing at a non Marshall Security client premises on Laughton Avenue in the Glen Ashley area.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to scene. Within minutes one of our Armed Response Officers spotted the suspect on Marion Avenue. As soon as the suspect spotted our Officer the suspect started to flee by fence hoping between properties.
After an extensive search and together with the assistance of Home Hawks Neighborhood Watch the suspect was successfully apprehended on a property Roger Place.
Durban North SAPS were contacted who arrived on scene a short while later and transported to suspect to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing.
This suspect is a known repeat offender, previously apprehended in the Glen Anil area in December 2020 for housebreaking and theft, and again in the Sunningdale area in December 2021 for theft.
