Yesterday at approximately 14h47, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a panic alarm signal from a residence on Havelock Road in Greenwood Park. The homeowner reported that a known thief had broken into the property earlier that morning, stealing expensive rugs and other undisclosed items. Surveillance footage confirmed the theft — clearly identifying the thief.
Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the homeowner provided further details, including video footage confirming the suspect’s identity.
While conducting area patrols, one of our officers spotted the suspect at the corner of Banbury and Sentinel Avenue. Acting swiftly, the officer apprehended the suspect before any chance of escape.
SAPS Greenwood Park were promptly notified and arrived shortly thereafter to assist.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to selling the stolen goods and led officers to a well-known informal settlement off Parkington Grove. Working together, Marshall Security and Greenwood Park SAPS managed to locate the buyer and recover some of the stolen property.

Both the suspect and the buyer together with the stolen items were transported to Greenwood Park Police Station for further investigation and processing.
This successful arrest in Greenwood Park once again highlights the power of rapid response, community vigilance, and collaboration between Marshall Security and SAPS in fighting crime and keeping our neighborhoods safe.
