INCIDENT: HOUSE ROBBERY

Just before 15:00 on Thursday, Marshall Security responded to reports of a house robbery at a residence in Burndale Place, Durban North.
Armed reaction officers descended on the scene and further information ascertained from our street patrol guard indicated that the homeowners were still inside the premises and screaming for help.
On further investigation, our team discovered the homeowner and two domestic workers confined to a bathroom. Although considerably traumatised, they did not suffer any physical injury. They were assessed on scene by Crisis Medical paramedics and the assistance of the North Durban Victim Support Team was sought to counsel them.
Reports from the scene suggest that three men armed with handguns stormed the home just after 14:45 confronting the homeowner and his domestic workers before confining them to a bathroom and ransacking the home, making off with three flatscreen televisions and other undisclosed items, fleeing in an awaiting getaway vehicle.
The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
