Joint Effort Halts Armed Robbery Spree on N2/M41

In recent months, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch has been notified of numerous armed robberies near the N2 and M41 Highways, where several pedestrians were violently robbed, and in some cases, severely stabbed. Notably, an off-duty Armed Response Officer from a private security firm was robbed of his cellphone and work uniform this past Monday afternoon.

Yesterday morning at approximately 11h30, in a joint and intelligence driven operation between members of our Special Operations Team, Durban North SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes Unit, Durban North SAPS Detectives and Ridge Management Control Room manned by Excellerate, team members descended to the M41 and N2 Highways.

During the operation three suspects were swiftly apprehended who were in possession of several knives, cell phones and the stolen uniform from the off-duty Armed Response Officer from a private security company.

The suspects who are believed to behind the armed robbery sprees in the area were then transported to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing.

We urgently request to members of the public that should you have fallen victim to Armed Robbery in the vicinity in the past few months to please report the incident and open a case with the SAPS soonest. If you have reported the incident to the SAPS and a case was opened, please do contact your investigating officer dealing with your case.

Well done to all role players on yet another successful operation.
