This evening, at approximately 18h50 members of our Special Operations Team in collaboration with the Durban North SAPS Trio Crimes Unit and SAPS Crime Intelligence acted on information received regarding a boat which had been stolen in Umdloti in September last year.
In the joint effort, team members proceeded to KwaNgcolosi area where they had meet the suspect who was trying to sell the stolen boat. Upon their arrival a suspect spotted our team members and fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the suspect was successfully apprehended. Regrettably, two boat motors had already been removed, and the signage on the boat was missing.
The recovered boat and trailer has been transported back to Durban North SAPS, along with the suspect, for further investigation and processing.
