Yesterday at approximately 15h30 in the afternoon, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client requesting urgent medical assistance on Legacy Road in the Malacca informal settlement.
Information received indicated that an individual had sustained serious injuries while working with an angle grinder.
Members of the Marshall Security Special Operations Team (SOT) and Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, members found the injured individual with severe injuries to the forehead and arm after reportedly slipping while operating the angle grinder.
Marshall Security members immediately rendered first aid and remained with the patient until emergency medical services arrived.
Paramedics subsequently took over patient care, stabilised the injured individual on scene, and transported the patient to hospital for further medical treatment.
