Yesterday morning at approximately 08h43, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received information about a stolen VW Polo parked at a well-known shopping mall in the La Lucia area.
Multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The stolen vehicle, which had been fraudulently purchased in the Sandton area, was located in the parking lot. The driver, who was identified as the fraudster responsible for the purchase, was immediately apprehended and handed over to Durban North SAPS, who arrived on the scene shortly after.
Later that morning, members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Matrix Tracking with a Nissan Almera that had been reported stolen in the Phoenix area.
After a brief track and search operation, the stolen vehicle was found abandoned on a property on Edgeley Road in the Park Hill area.
Phoenix SAPS arrived on the scene shortly after and transported the stolen vehicle to Phoenix SAPS for further investigation and processing.
