A private security guard has been left fighting for his life after being attacked by armed suspects whilst on patrol on Harold Place in Glenashley.
Reports from the scene indicate that the man was confronted by two suspects armed with a firearm, a scuffle allegedly broke out and the suspects fired a shot, striking the guard in the abdomen.
The suspects fled on foot and remain at large.
The guard was treated and stabilized by Crisis Medical paramedics before being taken through to hospital for further care.
The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
