Proactive Crime Prevention Patrol Leads to Arrest and Recovery

Yesterday, at approximately 17h00, while conducting proactive patrols along Acutt Avenue, Marshall Security Special Operations Team (SOT) members observed two suspects jumping out of a property while carrying plastic bags.

Recognising the suspicious behaviour, members immediately moved in to investigate.

As the suspects became aware of the patrol presence, both fled on foot, prompting members to initiate a pursuit.

Following a short foot chase, members successfully apprehended one suspect, while the second suspect managed to evade arrest.

Upon searching the apprehended suspect, members recovered a large knife in his possession. Further inspection of a black plastic bag carried by the suspect led to the recovery of a high-pressure cleaner, which had been stolen from the property on Acutt Avenue.

It was later established that the property was not fitted with an alarm system.

Greenwood Park SAPS arrived shortly thereafter, and the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the police station for further processing and investigation.

This housebreaking suspect arrested highlights the importance of proactive patrols, rapid response, and visible operational presence in identifying suspicious activity and preventing further losses. The swift actions of Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team, together with SAPS, played a critical role in ensuring the suspect was apprehended and the stolen property recovered.

When suspicious activity is identified and acted on decisively, real results follow. Incidents such as these serve as a reminder of the value of proactive patrols, strong partnerships, and having effective security measures in place, while reinforcing Marshall Security’s commitment to showing up and taking action, in case of anything.
