INCIDENT: ROBBERY FROM PERSONS / SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Four men have been arrested by Marshall Security earlier this afternoon after committing a robbery from a person in Pembroke Road, Durban North.
Just after 12:30, Marshall Security were alerted to a robbery from persons which had occurred in Pembroke Road. Armed Reaction officers attended the scene and further information ascertained revealed that four suspects, traveling in a Toyota Etios, armed with pepper spray.
The suspects allegedly stopped the vehicle next to the man before spraying him in the face with pepper spray and attempting to steal his cellphone. The victim managed to clamber to a place of safety and alert authorities as the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
A description of the suspects and vehicle used was distributed to all Marshall Security vehicles in the area and a short while later, a vehicle matching the description was spotted traveling on Bailey Road. With the assistance of the South African Police Services, the vehicle was brought to a stop.
The suspects were remanded into custody for further information and processing. They have been positively identified by the victim as being the men who attacked and attempted to rob him of his belongings.
The suspects are believed to be linked to a spate of robbery from persons cases in the Durban North area of late.
