INCIDENT: ROBBERY FROM PERSON(S) / SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Two suspects were arrested yesterday in a joint effort between Marshall Security and the South African Police Services.
A call was received at approximately 16:00 for a female pedestrian who had been robbed by armed suspects in the Umhlanga Ridge area near the N2 highway.
Officers surrounded the area and began searching for the men on foot when two suspects matching the description given by the complainant were spotted fleeing on foot on Mount Edgecombe Drive. A foot chase ensued resulting in the men being apprehended by the SAPS.
The suspects were found in possession of a knife believed to be the one used to rob the female of her belongings. The third suspect remains at large.
These suspects are believed to be linked to a spate of over twenty robberies in the area of late and further investigations will be conducted.
