This morning at approximately 10h15, while on routine patrol, Marshall Security Armed Response Officers observed a male acting suspiciously near the corner of Gumtree Road and Smithfield Road in the Sea Cow Lake area.
The individual was seen carrying several items and, when approached by officers for questioning, was unable to provide a valid explanation for how he came into possession of them.
Given the suspicious behaviour, and lack of clarity, the suspect was immediately apprehended.
Greenwood Park SAPS was contacted and arrived on scene shortly thereafter. The individual was transported to the police station for further investigation and processing.
It is unclear at this stage where the items were stolen from. If you have fallen victim to a housebreaking or theft incident in the area, please report the matter to SAPS.
This arrest highlights the importance of visible security patrols and rapid response in identifying suspicious activity before crimes escalate. Marshall Security continues to support SAPS and the community in ensuring safer neighbourhoods through proactive, street-level intervention.
