On Thursday, at approximately 16h15, our Special Operations Team, while on patrol along the M4 Southbound Highway, spotted a white Ford Ranger which was implicated in two separate theft incidents within the Avoca, Greenwood Park area.
The Ford Ranger was wanted for theft of a diesel trailer earlier in January and for fueling up without settling payment at a well known service station in March of this year.
With the support of the Durban North SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, the vehicle was intercepted on the M4 within the Durban North vicinity, leading to the apprehension of one suspect.
Further examination revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen back in November 2021 from the Verulam area, confirming its involvement in multiple criminal activities.
The suspect, along with the recovered vehicle, was taken to Durban North SAPS for extensive investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
Well done to our team on yet another successful arrest which will assist the SAPS in three cases with crucial evidence which will hopefully in due course lead to a conviction.
