On Friday afternoon, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a report of a theft at a well-known restaurant in the Westville area. The restaurant’s manager had their phone stolen by an unidentified suspect.
This afternoon, at approximately 13h45 our Special Operations Team, acting on received information, managed to apprehend a suspect on the Durban Promenade. The individual was found in possession of the stolen phone and was attempting to sell it at the time of apprehension.
Durban Central SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to a nearby police station for further processing and investigations.
