A stolen VW Polo was recovered and one suspect arrested following a coordinated response involving Marshall Security Special Operations Team members, Fidelity Investigations and Specialized Operations, Fidelity SecureDrive, and Lamontville SAPS.
On 26 June 2026, in the early afternoon, members received a tracking activation from Fidelity SecureDrive regarding a VW Polo that had been stolen in the Chatsworth area.
Members immediately proceeded towards the Chatsworth and Lamontville areas to search for the stolen vehicle. Shortly thereafter, updated GPS coordinates were received indicating the vehicle’s location in Lamontville, and members responded accordingly.
Whilst en route, members spotted the stolen VW Polo travelling at the corner of Radebe Road and Managle Road.
Upon noticing the approaching members, the suspect immediately accelerated and fled at high speed along Radebe Road. Members initiated a pursuit of the stolen vehicle.
After a short chase, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
The suspect then attempted to flee on foot; however, members acted swiftly and the suspect was successfully apprehended.
Members of Lamontville SAPS arrived on scene shortly thereafter and took over the incident. The recovered VW Polo, together with the arrested suspect, were transported to Lamontville SAPS for further investigation and processing.
